I was very impressed by the whole appointment. I arrived early for my appointment but was ushered straight in to see Mr Butler. He had all my notes and x-ray results in front of him and took some time to catch-up as it was the first time I'd seen him. He asked relevant questions and listened to my replies carefully. By the end of the appointment I felt reassured about my problem, that it had been discussed and a sensible decision had been made with my input. I left knowing I would see him again in 12 months with the proviso that if there was any deterioration in my condition I could get in touch. This was reassuring and made me feel in control. I actually enjoyed the experience.

Mr Butler diagnosed a mid foot fracture and talked me through the surgical procedure needed to fix it. He was very realistic in describing the challenge of a 6 month recovery period, including many weeks being non weight bearing. Disappointingly, the first operation was unsuccessful, so I had to go through the whole thing again. He was empathic and supportive during this time, and thankfully all went well second time around. Mr Butler is friendly, respectful and he listened to my concerns very sympathetically. He takes time to explain the technical aspects of surgery, which I find very helpful.

I cannot give enough praise to Mr Butler and his team for the superb treatment I was given when having a total knee replacement operation at St Michael's Hospital in October last year. It was good to be in such a pleasant environment which went a long way to removing any misgivings that I might have had about having surgery. Thank you Mr Butler and thank you St Michael's Hospital.
